Thurs Nov 13th 2008 - Welcome Drinks & Dance
Make sure to leave work early, put on your party clothes and head to the Bald Faced Stag Hotel in Leichhardt. SSF kicks off with welcome drinks at this great venue… ‘Drink a beer, spread the cheer!’ or jump onto the dance floor and groove it up to our fabulous DJ’s!
Friday Nov 14th 2008 - Sydney Jitterbug Championships
Watch, support or get onto the competition floor as the best dancers try to wipe each other off the floor with aerials, tricks, dips, stunts and simply great dancing. Whether you want to compete, support or dance…. What can you expect? A whole lot of FUN!
Saturday Nov 15th 2008 - Mobsters & Mafia Swing Ball
Think the ‘Italian Job’. Experience the thrill of a Swing Ball, dress in your best Mobsters and Mafia outfit and feel the heat as Anthony Howe’s Cotton Club Combo pumps out the tunes for your dancing pleasure. A complimentary swing class, performances and hours of social dancing to the Swingin’ sounds of a fabulous Jazz band await you….
Saturday Nov 15th - Sunday Nov 16th 2008 - Swing Workshops
Join our HOT Teaching Team in two days of workshops with Vincenzo Fesi and Isabella Gregorio (Como, Italy) & Shane McCarthy and Ruth Jeffery (Perth, Australia). Sunday Nov 16th 2008 - Swing RAVE
The swing rave is all about having one BIG PARTY and of course…. dancing, dancing, dancing. Celebrate the conclusion of the Sydney Swing Festival and say your final farewells to the fabulous teaching team, fellow dancers, visitors and new friends.
Monday 19th Nov 2008 - Bondi Beach
One of the highlights of last year’s Festical… At SSF 2008, we are officially including the ‘day at Bondi Beach’ on our schedule. We can’t think of a better way to wind down after a jam-packed weekend… than relaxing on the beach. Bring a beach towel, food and a big smile!
